What you'll practise
FOUNDATIONS develops 5 domains (areas of everyday life) picked for this stage. Your child's Outcome Report scores all 5 at the start and end. Their goal, chosen with you, sits inside one of them.
- 1Main focus
Start it, finish it
Getting going without a reminder, and seeing a task through to the end.
General tasks and demands - 2Main focus
Friends and turn-taking
Joining in, sharing and sorting out a disagreement, practised for real.
Interpersonal interactions and relationships - 3
Getting ready
Morning and bedtime routines they can run themselves.
Self care - 4
Following through
Following instructions, keeping track of time and remembering what's next.
Learning and applying knowledge - 5
First trips out
A local shop, a library or a club: a short trip with a clear purpose.
Community, social and civic life
Taught your way. Your child's diagnosis shapes how we teach, and every activity comes in three levels, from more support to more challenge.
Practised where it counts. At home and out in your community, where you're most comfortable and where the goal matters. Not in a clinic.
Built to change how much help you need, not just to tick off a goal. How we measure it →

Is this for you?
- Your child is 9 to 14 and has an NDIS plan with Improved Daily Living funding
- You'd like them to do more for themselves at home and out in the world
- They choose their goal with you, and you see the report
Not sure? The plan check answers it in 2 minutes. Age is only a guide, so choose the program that fits what you're facing now.
Every change documented. Confirmed.
Therapy shouldn't end with a guess. Your child's Outcome Report scores their 5 domains at the start and the end, in the functional capacity language the NDIS uses, so everyone can see what changed.
- See the change. Progress you can see, not just feel.
- Get your support team on the same page. Family and supports keep building on it. You choose who sees it.
- Know what's next. What to keep practising.

Questions about FOUNDATIONS
How are parents involved?
A parent or carer is there for the whole of every session. That's a condition of the program for everyone under 18, and no consent form replaces it. You watch without stepping in, so we can see what your child can do. At the end, the practitioner shows you that week's practice task and your part in it, so the skill keeps growing between visits.
What if they won't join in?
Every session follows the same predictable shape, the work starts at a level they can manage, and they can say no to any activity. If it still isn't working, stop any time and pay only for the sessions delivered.
What does a session look like with my child?
Every session runs for 2 hours and follows the same shape, so your child always knows what's coming. A short arrival and a look back at the week, then about an hour of hands-on practice, like getting ready or a trip to the local shop. Then they try the same skill a new way, and the session ends by planning what to practise before next time. Every activity comes in three levels, so the work starts at what your child can do now.
My child is 8. Can they start?
Impact6 starts at 9. From October 2026, many children 8 and under with low to moderate support needs are moving to Thriving Kids supports outside the NDIS.
Which budget pays?
Capacity Building: Improved Daily Living. The plan check shows you where to find it in your plan.
Can family or support workers be there?
Yes, and for anyone under 18 one adult has to be. A parent, guardian or adult carer you name in writing is present for the whole of every session: in the home within sight or hearing, and along on every outing. If no adult is there, the session can't go ahead and is charged as a short-notice cancellation. During activities the adult watches without stepping in. Other family and support workers are welcome to join any session too.
What if it isn't working?
Stop any time. You pay only for the sessions you've had, billed after each one. There's no exit fee.
Who comes to our home?
A registered allied health practitioner, such as an occupational therapist, developmental educator, speech pathologist, social worker or psychologist. They're registered with AHPRA or accredited by their professional body. Every practitioner holds a current NDIS Worker Screening clearance and, for participants under 18, a Working with Children Check where state law requires one. We keep the same practitioner throughout wherever possible.
Why at home and not in a clinic?
That's deliberate. People learn best where they feel comfortable, and home and the local community are where the goal actually matters. A skill practised in your own kitchen or on your own bus route is one you can use the next day, not one you have to work out again somewhere else.
Does this replace our current therapist?
No. They do different jobs. Ongoing therapy supports you over the long run. Impact6 is a short, focused block: twice a week for 6 weeks, the same practitioner, one goal practised in the places it matters, and a score at the start and the end. You can keep your regular supports going and add Impact6 as a concentrated push, if your plan has room for both. With your consent, we'll share the Outcome Report with your therapist so everyone builds on the same progress.
Can I talk to someone first?
Yes. Book a call time that suits you and we'll ring you then.
